Philatelic Numismatic Covers (PNC)
Philatelic Numismatic Covers or PNCs are a combination of a First Day Cover (FDC) and Coin Presentation Card. The cover will have a stamp or stamps from a particular issue which are postmarked with the standard FDI postmark. The cover has a coin sized hole cut into it and the related coin is housed in an insert card and the coin is visible from both sides.
Sometimes the PNC is the only way to obtain the coin and these covers are the most sought after and attract much higher prices.
PNCs are an attractive way to collect stamps and coins together and can make an attractive addition to a themed collection.
