Australian Decimal Stamps | Koala & Kangaroo Reprints

Since 1990 when Australian Decimal Stamps (generally definitive issues) are reprinted a symbol is printed in the margin or selvedge denoting the number of reprints.

The symbols used are a mix of Koalas and Kangaroos with the 1st reprint being 1 Koala through to 4 Koalas for the 4th reprint.  A Kangaroo denotes the 5th reprint and then 1 Kangaroo with 1 Koala is the 6th reprint to the 9th reprint being 1 Kangaroo with 4 Koalas.  A 10th reprint would be 2 Kangaroos.
